Minutes read and approved.
Under old business:
For the upcoming VDTRA National on Aug. 4th & 5th Glenn announced that any one riding their motorcycle to the races would get in free and also there would be a knobby class if enough riders showed up. You don’t have to be a VDTRA Member to ride the knobby class, you only have to be a current AMA Member.
Jeff thanked Garret & son for picking up all the trash and Dennis Smith for shredding and Wayne for fixing the hydraulics on the blue tractor and Thanks to James & Mary Taylor for shredding and picking up the grounds and thanks also going to Danny who sprayed weeds all day on Saturday.
Jeff put the rain lock on since it had rained and Danny asked it the rain lock could be kept on while he was weed spraying. Some members showed up and Glenn suggested that if they would help to pick up trash and help that they would be the first one to ride on the track when it dried out! They left.
The Jay King Benefit will have to be re-scheduled because of rain. Gene would prefer it to be before the Torque races being that everyone would be riding the same track. Jeff suggested a double header weekend that we could re-schedule the benefit for Sept. 15th for the MX Buddy Race with. the 16th being our Reg. MX date. However the Torque races are scheduled for that weekend also. Gene also commented that a chute of some sort to score the riders on the buddy race would help the scorers keep up with everyone since there would be two different size bikes with A & B Mains. A date needs to be set for the benefit. Jeff commented that there are 5 Sundays in September. And since the Torque races were on the Sept. 15th & 16th the Waco Eagles MX would need to be moved to the next weekend after the 15th & 16th.
Jeff asked Ross what happened to the Barbeque for Jay’s Benefit which had been thawed out. Ross said that he distributed the barbeque and that Glenn had taken some and feed all the workers on Saturday the 28th of July.
Jeff made mention at this time that Glenn & Wayne built a header & mister on the white water truck to keep the groove alive a consistent spray on the track 3 riders wide groove. It is removable and Glenn & Wayne will take it off each time after the flat track and have already built a rack for it and also fixed the ladder.
Under New Business:
Jeff announced that the club would be having a monthly street motorcycle ride. Also that Jeff, Glenn and Petra would be attending the AMA VIP Meeting at the Freestone race.
Jeff asked the members if anyone knew how much concrete tables cost. The club needed new tables that would last instead of being wood tables. Wayne suggested that when they worked on the fence and concreted in the fence maybe they could pour concrete tables?
Jeff asked any other new business:
Ross got a call from James Proctor about the water truck in Oklahoma and James said that he would take $ 7,000.00 for the truck and the club could pay it out with putting down $ 4,500.00. Ross then contacted Jeff, Glenn & the E-board and they agreed to purchase the truck. Ross explained that the water truck had nozzles that sprayed in every direction. Curt remarked that the 3208 Cat diesel had a major motor in it – a heavy duty water truck. Glenn added that the white truck probably would bring a $ 1,000.00. Noted that this truck could only take one pass around the tracks – a second pass would soak the tracks. Glenn suggested that selling the old water trucks going out to Johnny Baker’s and picking up the old Dodge truck and selling the tankard all for scrape iron, since scrape metal is bringing a good price now. Mike Haynes asked how we were going to quick fill the truck. Glenn brought up that not everyone could drive the truck without having a driving lesson since the truck had 2 sticks. Glenn suggested that the drivers just leave it in low range.
Jeanine asked at this time had the software been purchased and Jeff said he had it right here. Jeff donated a Dell PC to the club. Discussion broke over 4 wheeler classes on the MX .
Wayne made a motion for the meeting to adjourn and Lori seconded it.
Meeting adjourned.
