Update on the red water truck the PTO is welded up waiting for the ground to dry to install the drive shaft

Jeff commented that the track is draining well. Jeff asked the members to continue to call the track recorder to see if the track is open. Since it takes about $ 40.00 for the blue tractor, and $ 150.00 to $ 200.00 for the loader & water truck in fuel each time to prep the MX track.

Danny said that the guy with the water tank trailer hadn’t gotten back with him to date.

Wayne asked Danny if he could spray the weeds up front so that more people would see the track. Danny said he had done so and that the club was out of weed killer.

Under New Business

Glenn McNamara, Vice-President rescheduled a VDTRA race for Sat. Aug 4, & Sunday Aug 5th since he had been contracted by Hal Jarrell as the races in Beaumont had been cancelled on those dates. Races will be under the lights on Sat. at 7:30 pm and Sunday races will start at 11:00 to beat the heat. Both races will be short track and you must be a VDTRA member to race in their classes and everyone must be an AMA member.

Jeff cautioned members again to be on the look out for snakes, he killed another one.

Thanks to Chip for an easy up.

Jeff told the club that Track Side Plus Scoring Software is $ 350.00 and could hook up later with transponders. Curt Steven made a motion we buy it and Time seconded the motion carried.

Ross stated the Don Parker is going to donate another $ 500.00 to the club.

Glenn said that the VDTRA & AMA are running the DuQuion mile this weekend.

The Thunder Series Jeff reported on that 3 rounds was already finished and he sent the results to Linda @ Athens the same weekend on July the 15th. Results were TBA at the last race of the season.

Jeff also brought up that a possible TORQUE races would be held at the track. The options being they either lease the property from us or we could have the gate money. Wayne asked if they would have their own insurance. Schedule race is Sept. 15th & 16th. These being the same dates as the regular schedule Waco Eagles MX races since there are 5 Sundays in Sept.

Danny Krumnow made a motion that Jeff negotiates the best deal for the club.

Ross stated that with 300 entries would possible be $ 3,000.00 for the 2 day event.

Tony Moore seconded – motion carried.

Jason with Waco Motor-Sports was at this time introduced by Jeff. Jason wants to get more involved with the Waco, support the club and have contingencies mainly for the kids on race day and with a Waco Eagles key any member would automatically get a 15% taken off their bill.

Danny spoke up after Jason spoke and said the club needed to run a TT. Glenn said if enough would run it he would have one. The last TT the riders were at Guthrie, OK and left not wanting to race a TT.

Lee asked if there was going to be any changes made to the track. Jeff replied one was the cut off would be changed a little and remove the whoops because they couldn’t be fixed. Jeff also stating that the whoops were a liability to the club. Discussion then broke out between Danny, Curt & Tony. Jeff remarked that talking about changing the track is easier than moving the dirt. Glenn said there is a lot of dirt on the back of the half mile and that Gary DeLamar had a 6 yard dump truck the club could possibly pay and get additional from one track to the other. Lee said he like the track but his first idea was that everyone should have a voice in planning changes to the MX track. Jeff asked how many are on the forum, & with app. 379 members other members could voice their opinions. Tony Moore volunteered to put a section on the form for ideas and a track layout.

Jeff made a motion to adjourn. Glenn seconded. Meeting adjourned.
