Old Business:
Jeff gave an update on the fence, Mike
Davis called an associate of his and found out it would cost the same as the
initial amount. He said he would have to reset all the poles and start
over.
Jeff announced that the club had officially purchased the tractor. It
is financed through Central National Bank for $670 a month, we do not know what
the insurance will cost at this time.
Jeannine asked what insurance covered?
Jeff responded that theft and fire would be covered.
Mike Haynes asked about
storage. Jeff said we are looking at least $2,000. Jeff stated that he wants a
nice structure, and suggested putting it at the back of the Flattrack, to the
right. He stated that this would have to be discussed further. Discussion broke
out about the structure. Mike Haynes commented that the good thing about the
container is that it is secured. Danny Krumnow noted that he fixed the awing
temporarily but major repairs were needed, he suggested enclosing it. Jeff said
it would be an obstruction.
Dean suggested using it not only as a storage
area but also as a scouring tower or observation deck. Discussion continued
about weather to purchase a 20’ or 40’ structure, the 40’ structure is about
$2500. Jeff asked Ross if we could swing it. Ross said he would check on it.
Mike Haynes suggested we get an insurance quote before we purchase the shelter.
Discussion continued about insurance, Ross speculated worst-case scenario
insurance would be $50 per month. Ross suggested carrying liability and personal
injury protection.
Mike Haynes said it is foolish to have the tractor out in
the rain and he would like something to happen with the shed. Mike Haynes
motioned that the club should buy a 40’ shelter and have it delivered for no
more than $3,000. Ross seconded the motion and the motion carried. Discussion
than began about where to put the shelter.
Danny Krumnow motioned that Jeff
and a flattrack person and one other person, maybe Wayne Coughran go out and
decided where to put the structure.
New Business:
Donny Bousard, a student at TSTC, knows people who go to
school and who would like to ride but cannot afford the membership fee. Donny
made a motion to discount dues for the 1st year of membership.
Discussion continued about how this would work and what proof a student would
need to show for full time student status. Jeannie Davis stated that if a flyer
was created, it needs to be made clear that every student needs proof of full
time status.
Jay King motioned that full time students pay $125 for an individual first
year membership and provide proof of full time status. Tony Moore seconded the
motion and the motion carried.
Jeff talked about honor box. If you are a
member bringing a non-member, the guest must sign a release and pay the $10/day
guest fee. Guest must remain with member at all times.
Jeannine was asked if
you let someone tryout the track, does she need to stay. Jeff commented that it
was a gray area and she was only doing it once per person.
Mike Haynes asked
if the club would let someone repair the starting gate for a membership. He
would like it to be fixed where you can lock it down. Jeff seconded the motion
and the motion carried. Club would purchase the material and Billy would fix the
start gate.
Jeff stated that the red water truck is tore up. First gear went
out on it and Jeff is concerned about wearing out the clutch.
Jeff stated
that the white water truck is in need of repair as well. The nuts are out of
wheels and the wheels have come loose before. Mike Haynes has 2 free wheels for
the white water truck. Jay king has a friend that would be happy to look at it.
Jay’s friend will look at the axles. Mike Haynes can change the tires at
Barger’s.
Jay King mentioned that only certain designated people should
operate the new tractor.
Danny suggested that Jeff be the only person to use
tractor. Jeff stated Tony has been on it and is a good operator. Jeff suggested
he sign out the key. Tony, Jeff, and Glenn can run the new tractor.
Jeff
stated that the vintage MX guy wants to be contacted about coming to Waco in
September. Mike Haynes stated that it would add 3 to 4 moto’s to the race. Jeff
said he would check on it, and check with Chester.
Jeff and Tony looked down
the fence line that divides Percy’s property and ours, there is all kinds of
trash, Jeff wants to clean it up. Jeannine suggested putting it on forum for
help. Danny suggested the club do something to discourage dumping and tire
disposal.
Jeff needs volunteers to run the next MX race. Jeannine and Missy
said they would help.
