New Business:
Rick Denney was contacted by Lester Gibson about the railroad putting in a new road and take out all of the railroad crossings along hwy 6 due to more trains running coal on the tracks and the less likely hood of wrecks on the tracks. It would be a nice road and club members would enter the track off the new road. Details would be forth coming. Ross at this time asked about a $140 check and Rick commented that it was the clubs oil lease from Osage. Danny Krumnow also spoke up stating that once they fire up the Riesel plants, a normal operating day would be 7 coal trains a day running along hwy 6. Rick also stated the the RR would provide private acces for all the property owners and the RR would pay for it.
Glenn McNamara spoke up and said his brother would like to buy the red water truck, the truck he donated the transmission for. Jeff made a motion and Tim Collier seconded it, motion carried and instead of money, Jeff asked for a newer seat for the white water truck. Glenn said that could be arranged.
Danny brought up the need to poison the weeds and fix up the pic-nic tables. It was discussed putting a table under the awning that Jack Barber put up. Jeff said he'd call Ron Kasberg to build a new score tower using the existing foundation and just level off from the foundation.
Glenn interjected that the VDTRA would be running the Short Track on Sat July 26th under the lights, and Sunday July 27th. Start Sunday would begin at 11:am due to the heat.
Don Miller mentioned that a rider got hurt during intermission at the MX race and the club needed a disclaimer when the riders sign in. Danny also interjectedthat the club needed some sort of a disclaimer and Jeff said it could be mentioned at the riders meeting. We could also have a sign that reads "members only and that entry without registration will be considered tresspassing. Petra McNamara volunteered to call Wayne Cougheran to see what could be done about posting a sign for members to sign in.
It was discussed that MX racers would pay $10 for a second race entry. Jeff made a motion, Rick 2nd. Motion carried.
Brian at this time mentioned that after the races the little racers didn't quite know where to get off the track and maybe a PVC pipe gate would be helpfull. Jeff stated it needs to be brought up in the riders meeting.
Danny brought up the possibility of ripping the track for more water retention and that Cutis couldn't get around the entire track at present with the water truck. It was suggested by Danny, Jeff, & Rick to put a road around the track to water it.Ross stated the the HOT track plowed and watered. Danny asked about the sheeps foot and Glenn stated it was 4' wide, tounge pulled. Glenn woud purchase for $500. using flat track funds and would probably work well for the MX track also to put moisture down since letting the water pool and soak in. Jeff said the MX track is holding moisture better with the new sand on and just to water and not rip. Jef said he drags the track backward and drags the loose stuff. Packing it when wet and tacky & maybe using the sheeps foot was also suggested to help keep the moisture in the MX track.
Old Business:
Jeff checked on radios and couldn't get the ones that Ross suggested. They are no longer available. Battery operated "Walkie-Talkies were $400 per set for the Motorolas and maybe the club should use PTT headsets which were around $25 per set.
Glenn asked the club if he could rent a bulldozer before the Oct flat track race. Jeff suggested using Thad. Don Miller also knew of an operator to compare rates between the two.
Anthony asked about the 65cc MX class. His son wants to race in the 85cc class. Dissussion broke out about ages and bike classifications.
Also under old business, the 50/50 potty raffle tickets were sold for a total of $270 giving the potty fund approx $136.
Dissussion over the oil-injected classes.
Jeff made a motion to adjourn and Curtis seconded, meeting adjourned.
