Minutes of the Waco Eagles Motorcycle Club
March 31, 2009
President Jeff Gilbert called the monthly meeting to order at 7:00 pm with the Pledge of Alliance. Ross Stovall gave the treasurer’s report for January 2009

Expenses for the month were $ 1,037.97. Minutes were read by Secretary Petra McNamara and approved.
Glenn McNamara, Vice-President with the upcoming VDTRA National Flat Track Races he would call the trash company to make sure the trash pickup would be before Friday the 3rd of April. There will also be a knobby class and riders must be AMA members. Glenn also reported he had gone by the Harley-Davidson shop and received several items to be auctioned off at the upcoming race. Jeff said that there should be some quads show up on race day also.
Jeanine Davis, membership chairman at the time brought up the MX bathrooms and also the need for Picnic Tables. Again discussion broke out about letting Rerun rebuild the bathroom and maybe replacing the bathroom with a metal bathroom.
Glenn reported that the past weekend that the water had been hooked up at the bathroom by the flat track scoring tower and that it had been painted and also cleaned up. JR McNamara has donated a sink for the ladies bathroom to be installed at a later date and James Taylor gave the club $ 60.00 for an extra port-a-potty for the club. Jimmy Eckert asked if the MX Track would be open and it will be with MX riders paying a gate fee at time of entry. And there would also be a Swap Meet at the races and Curtis Stevens spoke up and said the there should be New Holland people also at the track. Also at this time Jeff said that he had purchased two speakers for MX track and two speakers for the Flat Track. Curtis said that there would be boom donated by Equipment Depot to the club.
Jeff said that Jerry Server trophy account had been closed and Ross made a trips to Dallas and then to Madisonville and Fairfield with no trophies and parts to put trophies together. Jeff received a call for the Lake Whitney MX Club asking Jeff if the club would like to have all the old trophies which were in new condition. Jeff asked what he would take for the trophies and the guy said he would trade for a membership. So the club now has trophies for several races and enough plaques to a race or two. Jeff and Glenn also discussed putting some wind turbines on the metal storage bldg. so it wouldn’t sweat so bad and the trophies would be kept better. It was also brought up that the Ladies MX RR also had a cracked toilet. Glenn suggested buying a new toilet and then reusing the same toilet when a new restroom was built. Jeff said that he would purchase a toilet and install it.
Curtis asked about the race report for the March MX race. The total deposit was $ 1,924.00 entries and with a $ 680.00 Memberships. Glenn asked if there was anywhere we could as a club get trophy parts at a wholesale cost Jeff said we need to come up with another source and discussion broke out the Burleson track using Crown Trophies. Waco Eagles track has been buying trophies since the 1970’s. Ross said that he could build a set for $ 800.00 and other places would charge $ 1,300 for the same amount of trophies. Every MX race uses 80 to 85 trophies.
Jeff asked if there was any other new business. Louis has a ride planned for the Easter ending up at the races. Jeff would check on the date. Motion to adjourn was made meeting adjourned.
