Meeting Called to Order
The Meeting of February 27, began very solemn with Jeff announcing the meeting would be different this evening. Jeff gave a eulogy of Jay King remarking Jay’s loyal support of the club for over thirty years and always had the benefit of the club in mind whether he agreed with Jeff and or other members or not and never held a grudge and always had the best interest of the club at heart and the club members.
Mike Haynes then prayed over the King family. Knowing that Jay knew the Lord was a comfort to all and being a very loyal friend to everyone who knew him. He will be greatly missed
The Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag was then lead by President Jeff Gilbert.

Old Business:
Work was done out at the track the last two previous Saturdays and the white water truck is fixed and repiped Noting that the red water truck needs a new transmission and a throw out bearing. James Taylor and Glenn volunteered to take the transmission out but James said he needed a super vise. Ed Bagger volunteered to take the transmission out and put it in back. Keep in mind that the transmission needed to get back into the red truck as soon as possible Jeff noted and Glenn remarked that it would be better that they took out the transmission after Danny Krumnow race on the up coming Saturday.
Danny again reminded the club that a Mini film for $ 25.00 would be available to who ever wanted one. Danny would have Big Bike races 125, Open and Over 40 3 or 4 classes depending on who registered to race.
Discussion broke out at this time about the amount of water on the track and also over the different classes Danny would run.
Glenn explained the Flat Track Schedule with an Outlaw TT which he thinks that the Moto Cross Riders might enjoy racing.
New Business:
Jeff passed out sheets giving the time of Jay King’s visitation and funeral. On the back side of the Jay King Funeral announcement was information about "Riderdown" Organization for help and support which had graphics etc. and riders might consider the Website since the proceeds go the Riderdown families and those in need.
Danny reminded everyone about being at the Walmart in Hewitt to promote the race beginning at 5:00 pm. Park trailers in the back and roll the bikes to the front of the store.
Mike Haynes at this time reported he would like to plan a trip to east Texas either late March or early April to the "The Pepper Festival at Palestine."
Danny proposed for assigned duties at the races for the Executive officers being responsible for flaggers, starting gate etc. Not necessarily do it themselves but someone certain at each race. Jeff remarks he would set up a meeting with officers & E-Board members.
Mike Haynes asked if Johnny Baker had moved and the report was that he had moved and was getting married in the Killeen area. Discussion broke about replacing Johnny Baker on the E-Board or by appointment.
Glenn brought up at this time that the VDTRA would be running a "Stars Series" for the youth.
Jeff informed the club that the King family had requested that the members either ride your street bike or haul your dirt bike in the funeral procession for Jay King.
Curt also suggested that at a regular MX race that a memorial lap be taken with maybe Brent leading the memorial lap.
Jeff adjourned the meeting Ross seconded.
Meeting adjourned.
