Steve was very informative with his presentation. Look, Listen and Live! You don’t win with a train normally running 55 m.p.h. Don’t try and out run a train.
Questions after the presentation were about the train blocking the crossing for long periods of time especially when races are going on and racer has to be transported to the hospital via ambulance. Jeff stated that there was a time that the injured rider had to be air lifted out. Steve said that the trains should normally only set for 10 mins. However, with the new road put in by the railroad that will no longer be a problem.
Glenn thanked James and Mary Taylor for helping on flat track work day along with Wayne Coughran who painted the flat track fence. Plans are to work on the fence this winter especially at staging.
Glenn stated that the half mile held up good especially with the sheep foot finding the soft spots in the track. The track held moisture and didn’t come apart with 3 & 4 wide in the corners.
Jeff said that the pro rider with the helmet camera didn’t show up.
